Dear Rabbi Benjamin and Members of Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills:
The members of the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator Michael Dennehy were saddened to learn last night about a swastika incident at Pierce Middle School. Police Chief John King has updated us on the incident and is working with the School Department to address the matter. We understand that the students have been identified and that disciplinary steps are being pursued.
As you know, Milton is a No Place for Hate community. The Milton Public Schools and all town departments are welcoming, safe and inclusionary environments. The type of behavior that occurred at the middle school will not be tolerated in our schools or in our town. We wish to express to you our sadness that this incident occurred and our commitment to fostering respect, diversity and inclusion in the Town of Milton.
Happy Chanukkah and a Happy New Year to all.
Best regards,
Milton Board of Selectmen and Milton Town Administrator
